�鶹���� leverages military data exchange standards to ensure these systems can communicate effectively, enhancing joint operations and coalition warfare. These standards ensure all network participants can interpret and use data correctly, and hC2 incorporates several key standards to ensure interoperability, including the NATO Message Catalogue ADATP-3, Over-the-Horizon-GOLD, United States Message Text Format, STANAG 4609 Motion Imagery, Link 16 SIMPLE and JREAP, STANAG 5527 NATO Friendly Force Tracking and United States Variable Message Format.

Proactively Picturing Operations

The Order of Battle, or ORBAT, feature of hC2’s Command software provides a detailed and structured representation of friendly and enemy forces, according to Fernandez.

ORBAT serves as a foundational element for commanders to understand the composition and capabilities of their own forces – as well as those of the adversary – by providing a hierarchical outline, including units and their sizes, types, attachments and command relationships.

“This feature clearly delineates the chain of command, ensuring all personnel are aware of their roles and responsibilities,” said Fernandez. “By maintaining an up-to-date ORBAT, commanders can track the status and disposition of units, facilitating swift decision-making and resource allocation.”

ORBAT also aids in mission planning by allowing staff to visualize the organization of forces and conduct “what-if scenarios,” added Fernandez.

Peering into the Fourth Dimension

A critical tool within hC2 Command, the Synchronization Matrix aligns various force elements, such as maneuver, fire, intelligence and logistics, to ensure all actions are harmonized toward achieving the commander’s intent.

“The Matrix helps visualize how different units and assets will be employed over time and space, preventing conflicts and redundancies,” said Fernandez. “It promotes collaboration, encouraging a joint approach to problem solving and planning. It can be updated in real time for flexible and adaptive mission execution.”

Additionally, the holding feature of hC2 Command provides commanders a comprehensive overview of available resources and assets from ammunition and fuel to medical supplies and engineering equipment.

“This means commanders can monitor the consumption and replenishment of supplies, ensuring units maintain operational readiness,” said Fernandez. “Holdings information is crucial for anticipating logistical needs and planning resupply operations. This real-time visibility of assets allows for efficient allocation and redistribution of resources across the force.”
