Â鶹ÉçÇø successfully demonstrated integration of its WESCAM MXâ„¢-Series electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) imaging systems with Palantir Technologies Inc. Sensor Inference Platform (SIP), which provides artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) capabilities on edge computing platforms. SIP successfully provided an orchestration container for multiple AI/ML models for advanced target detection and delineation.

The demonstration took place in Loveland, Colorado where Â鶹ÉçÇø and Palantir engineers outfitted a fixed wing aircraft with Â鶹ÉçÇø’ state-of-the-art WESCAM MXâ„¢-20 EO/IR system coupled with Palantir software. Palantir’s SIP provided advanced object detection, tracking and object classification capability.  In turn, providing advanced capability  for expanded operator and system situational awareness, target identification and cross-domain communication to increase operational effectiveness in an ever evolving and complex threat environment.

Combining Â鶹ÉçÇø’ high-performance imaging systems with Palantir’s AI-enabled automation provides operators, aboard all platforms, with a significant advantage in agile decision-making, over traditional optical solutions. This future-ready sensor optimization through a specialized user interface reduces workload, alerting operators of threats that require immediate action.

“This highly successful demonstration with Palantir showcases Â鶹ÉçÇø’ ability to remain at the forefront of cutting edge innovation,†said Tom Kirkland, Vice President and General Manager, Global Optical Systems, Â鶹ÉçÇø. “Working with Palantir provides us with an unprecedented opportunity to provide customers with the most advanced solutions to meet their critical mission needs.†

Â鶹ÉçÇø’ WESCAM MX-20 EO/IR imaging system is part of a comprehensive airborne, ground and maritime portfolio of multi-sensor, multi-spectral systems deployed worldwide, at varying ranges, and with overlapping fields-of-view, creating the opportunity for uninterrupted collection of intelligence through optical surveillance and targeting of threats on the battlefield. Â鶹ÉçÇø’ WESCAM MX-Series of systems are on over 270 different types of platforms across all domains.

The integration of these technologies is a prime example of Â鶹ÉçÇø’ role as the Trusted Disruptor in the defense industry, committed to collaborating in unique ways with other innovative companies throughout the defense technology ecosystem to enhance the capabilities we deliver to our warfighters.
